ARTHUR'S STORY

The circumstances surrounding Arthur's birth are kept a close secret, even from Arthur himself. When his mother, the Lady Igraine, was unable to have a child, Arthur's father, Uther, asked the sorceress Nimueh to help them conceive one. She agreed to do so, but did not inform them of the consequences that would come of creating a child through magic. Igraine died shortly after Arthur's birth, as the rules of the Old Religion stated that for a life created, a life must be taken. Thus, Arthur was raised as an only child, until his father took in the orphaned daughter of his friend Gorlois, the Lady Morgana.

Arthur's education was centered around combat and the knightly arts. He himself claimed to have been "trained to kill since birth." Because of this emphasis, he is arguably the best knight in Camelot, and oversees the training and maintanence of the other knights in the kingdom. His skills make him rather arrogant at times, covering the fact that he has a very good heart and cares deeply for his family, friends, and future subjects.

ARTHUR'S RELATIONSHIPS

	Name: Merlin
	Occupation: Arthur's servant
	Relationship: Merlin is Arthur's manservant. Despite this master/servant relationship, the two young men have become very close. Arthur has even proven that he is willing to die for Merlin, and vice versa.

	Name: Gaius
	Occupation: Court physician
	Relationship: Gaius is the Court Physician, and Arthur has a great trust and respect for him.

	Name: Gwen
	Occupation: Morgana's maid
	Relationship: Gwen is Morgana's maidservant, and for a long time went beneath Arthur's notice. However, she began to come to his attention when she stood up to him. They eventually developed a mutual attraction, and even kissed as a result of it. Arthur pulled away from her soon after, but he continues to care about her deeply. He even disobeyed Uther and sought to rescue Gwen when she was kidnapped.

	Occupation: King's ward
	Relationship: Morgana is Arthur's foster sister. They often bicker and needle each other, but are nonetheless very close. They often stand together when they disagree with Uther, or cover for one another when they have to.

	Name: Uther Pendragon
	Occupation: King of Camelot
	Relationship: Arthur is Uther's son, and although they have a very difficult relationship, they still care for and respect one another deeply. Arthur longs desperately for his father's approval, but will not hesitate to disobey him if he feels the cause is just.

	Name: The Great Dragon
	Occupation: Prisoner of Uther
	Relationship: It is not known if Arthur is aware of the Great Dragon, but the magical creature often conspires to put Arthur on the throne so that he may be free from his imprisonment beneath Camelot.

I like the show, and am very excited to see where you are taking this. One question I have is why Arthur is Uther's son to begin with? What of the whole "sword in the stone" aspect of the myth? Has this been addressed? I just saw the show for the first time and I really want to know where this is going...
