Well, I didn't write a review of part 1 and it was the first episode this season I didn't write one for. Now I'm glad I didn't, because I thought the second part was much more intriguing and true to form than the first part, which upon first viewing I felt was veering a bit too much towards the 'silly' side.

I ended up liking this episode a great deal though, actually. I admired the actress who played LadyCatrina/the Troll, for the role itself was so unique in her being able to play two entirely different characters "out of costume", that way. She performed it brilliantly, I thought. Being just as believable as a uppity Princess one minute, a disgusting "troll" the next. :o)

You get a good sense of character development between Arthur and Merlin in this episode. One can sense a greater "trust-factor" growing, and the scene where they almost hugged was priceless! Lol As well as the scene where Arthur wakes up to find Merlin using the mirror to "spy" on the Lady Katrina; where you almost get the sense of Arthur stepping in as a Merlin father-figure in the way he handled that one.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again... the writers for this show are what make it such a remarkable 'joy' to watch each week. (Combined with a group of wonderful actors, of course). But to find a weekly series such as this, where you are constantly coming up with such imaginative and unique story-lines and having them come across so believable and seemingly real,.. well, it's just pretty much 'unheard of' in today's world of TV trash shows.

Especially heartwarming, was at the end (the morning after! lol), Uther and Arthur's little discussion at the breakfast table, ending with Arthur laughing out loud at his father's embarrassment. All in all; this was a great episode. I LOVE THIS SHOW! :o)
