The first thing that you should know about me as a beta is that I am accredited by PerfectImagination.co.uk. This is a service that provides reading tests to betas so that readers can fnd experienced editors. I've been accredited for several months now, but my skills have greatly improved.
As to my beta-ing style, I am fairly laid-back. I like to use Word documents and simply exchange them through email, and I leave my comments and suggestions marked in red. I also take as many reads as needed to perpare a chapter. I've worked with a writer and exchanged three variated copies of a chapter before we agreed it was ready.
Turn-around time is about 3-5 days for a chapter that contains 3,000 words.
