Well, I think that in the next and possibly final series of Merlin, Morgana will redeem herself like in the legends.
Here's a bit of imformation as to why I think this: In S1 The Beginning of the End - Uther knows Morgana commited treason but he lets her off with only a threat. In S2 The Witch's Quickening - Uther knows Morgana helped Alvarr escape which is again treason but he lets her off with another warning. In S3 The Coming of Arthur - Once it is out that Morgana is a traitor and she tried to take the throne, Uther or Arthur don't search for her because they still love her. In S4 even after everything she's done, Arthur doesn't search for Morgana. In S4 The Sword in the Stone - Arthur puts his sword away during the confrontation and again doesn't go and hunt her down. I believe that if Morgana did apologize and try to right her wrongs, Arthur wouldn't have her executed. Gwen would forgive her. Merlin would possibly in time. Arthur would understand her reasons for treason. What are your thoughts on what could happen with morgana in Series 5? One more thing that is nothing really to do with this thread since Uther is already dead, but have you ever noticed that he only ever puts women in chains in the dungeons. Gwen is chained when accused of creating the plague but when Gaius confesses or Merlin is suspected, they are not. When Morgana just challenges Uther for killing Tom, he puts her in the dungeons with chains. She's a lady and not used to it, she didn't really do more than usual and yet he puts her in chains. If anything, I would've thought he would've chained her when she helped Mordred or Alvarr later on. When Arthur rides out to get the flower for Merlin when he is poisoned after Uther warned him not to, he is put in the dungeons but not in chains. Thoughts on this as well? Hope you reply

personally i think the episodes with a lot of morgana like the beggining of the end and to kill the king are the best episodes what do you think? (im not dissing the rest)

I think it was really sweet how Merlin and Morgana used to get on especially in "The Moment of Truth" when she offered to help him out also in "The Beginning of the End" whilst both of them worked together to save Mordred from execution.
It was sad to see that relationship ruined!!

I love Morgana, in the begining she was such a kind and compassionate person and was one of the only people who stood up to Uther and spoke her mind. I admired her for these aspects. I sympathised when she struggled so much with her growing powers and her fears of Uther finding out she had magic. I think Merlin was right to lead her to the Druids and at the time I wished he had revealed his magic but I know now that that would've have been a huge mistake. I know why she hated Uther, she really is, like Queen Annis pointed out, a lot like her father and it irritates me to know how she loathes him when she is being just as stubborn. Her betrayal was not unjust, in my opinon, but Arthur is still her half brother, surely that should mean something? That first year she spent with Morgause was the worst, then again Merlin seemed to get through to her slightly in The Tears Of Uther Pendragon Part 2. It all seems pointless to try and get her to see sense, I don't think she'll ever get any of her more positive traits back but I wish that people would stop judging her as much. If you think about it from her view, she had no-one but Merlin to help her slightly in the second series until he poisoned her. She then spent a year with her half sister, someone she could trust, love and relate to, their bond was strong for that of two people who barely knew eachother to begin with. Her hatred for Uther grew more and she tried repeatedly to kill him. It is her right to be Queen, but she must know that Arthur is the better person to rule Camelot. Uther wanted Arthur to be King so much he lied to everyone, but lying to Morgana? That was another huge betrayal. I think if he had told her maybe things woul've been a little better, but on the other hand it could've just made them terribly worse ... I'm running out of characters to write ;)

If the producers are following the premise about Arthur never knowing of Merlin`s magic than why should he bother hiding behind an alter ego? So Morgana isn`t going to tell Arthur if she discovers Emrys is Merlin. What is the point ? Merlin has no reason to fear her. Perhaps Morgana will hang an empty threat over his head once she discovers him. It will be like a rehash of season 3 when Morgana held the threat of telling Uther about the poisoning. However this still doesn`t hold much dramatic tension if Merlin`s reveal is never going to happen.

As we all know Morgana`s fixation with Gwen started in season three when Morgana had the vision of Gwen becoming queen. She seems more troubled by the fact that Gwen is queen than Arthur being king. Morgana tells Morgause about the vision. Arthur being king in the vision is not even mentioned during the conversation. Why is she so fearful of Gwen becoming queen? As long as Arthur is dead than it doesn`t really matter what happens to Gwen. If Morgana wants to kill someone besides Arthur than it should really be Merlin. He presents more of a problem for her now .

Anything to do with Morgana's appearance, dresses, physical attributes feel free to discuss! Anyways, this is kinda a random topic but I just wanted to have it because I although it seems trivial it's quite interesting to me. Please discuss and remember to be friendly =), I'll keep this first post kinda short.
In General Gorgeous is the first thing I thought when I saw her. She's so classically beautiful with her dark and pale skin and her eyes which were so engaging. I didn't notice but she has green eyes which further adds to her beauty. Appearance s1 She looked her best then, full and vibrant which enhanced her beauty. Watching her in season one I thought she was one of the most beautiful actresses there. s2 Is it just me or she looks extremely sickly? Based on the new pics face seems so thin to me and her eyes have lost that intensity. There are kinda like rings around her eyes too. Hope she hasn't resorted to dieting trends. Also her make up is highly toned down, her lips have gone a pale colour from almost red ;_;. Colours and Dresses S1 i don't particularly like blue but in season one she looked the best in blue, expecially her signature outfit with the billowing ripples and jewelled cuffs. She looked stunning in the red maid costume which most consider unflattering. (she's just that gorgeous =). I hate her in green though. S2 Man she's jumping so much colors in S2 and has moved away from blue (which I like) to green (which I hate on her). The linear beads on her promo green dress look behemian which I don't like. I think its unusual how different Gwen and Morgana behave toward the wrongs they have been dealt. Morgana is practically a walking time bomb which isn`t surprising. However it is Gwen`s lack of reaction that seems odd. We all know that Gwen isn`t a revengeful person like Morgana . She cries and then moves on. It feels like Gwen didn`t really deal with the impact of her father`s death. Morgana`s lust for revenge against Uther is built up and shapes her character arc. Gwen`s father dying didn`t really effect her arc very much.
Nothing really seems to effect Gwen`s arc very much. She remains constant. I don`t expect anything extreme but I thought she might be a bit bitter at least. She works under the roof of the man that is responsible for her dad`s death. Shouldn`t she struggle a bit with that fact. She seems to accept whatever hand fate deals her for the most part. While in contrast Morgana always fights against the tide. Perhaps its because Gwen is a servant. Maybe she`s like Merlin in a sense she quietly copes with unfairness in her personal life on a daily basis and learns to see the bigger picture. I could be reading too much into this. Gwen feels more like a person that things happen to rather then someone who makes things happen.

I`m confused. Why didn`t Morgana tell Uther that Merlin poised her ? Also she knows that Merlin has magical powers. Why doesn`t she expose him to Uther ? I missed season 3 episodes 1-7. I didn`t become a fan of Merlin until after the show was taken off SYFY. I have only seen it on Hulu and you tube.

I think it would be fascinating in season II if Morgana and Merlin became magical students together. It would be fascinating to have Arthur have to face two of his closest friends as warlocks openly.

yeah that would be so awesome! but what if arthur or worse uther finds out morgana and merlin would be dead you know what he said to her in episode 8 "if you betray my again i will break that promise i made to your father without a second thought
