| Deleted scene from "The Curse of Cornelius Sigan"
9/29/09
Supermerlinfan dug this deleted gem up for us. We're not sure why it was left out of the episode but it further sets up the animosity between Merlin and Cedric and adds some slapstick humor to the episode. Perhaps it will be added back in when the series goes to DVD. Until then, enjoy!

| | Will Emilia Fox be the one to woo Merlin?
9/28/09
Colin Morgan stated in the Belfast Telegraph confirmed that Merlin would infact be getting a love interest.
“And yes, there is a love interest for Merlin, which is about time too, but that's all I can say. I can't give too much away about it, but there is some romance in line for him.”
Maureen Coleman of the Belfast Telegraph speculated that the love interest might be Emilia Fox, who will have a guest role later in the series. But this doesn't really look like Emilia Fox. There's been speculation that the woman in question is Morgana, but it's hard to tell from what we have here.
Guess well have to wait and see! What do you think?

| | King Arthur: hero or genocidal warlord?
09/28/09
Here at MerlinTVShow, we're used to thinking of Prince Arthur as a young upcoming prince, sometime prat, but generally good hearted. But according to Dr Simon Young, a historian and expert in Celtic studies, the "real" King Arthur was inspired by two sixth century warlords "Arthur" and "Artur" or even a Roman general named Artorius.
"Arthur was not supposed just to return his people to happiness but to entirely wipe out their neighbours – the English," Dr. Simon Young said.
In the book Dr. Young translates a dire 10th century Welsh poem poem about King Arthur called Armes Prydein, or the Great Prophecy.
It warns that Arthur will return from the dead and wage a bloodthirsty war against the English, wiping out so many that there will be "cadavers standing, holding each other up" because there is no room for the corpses to fall.
