THE CONVINCE-NBC-TO-KEEP-MERLIN MISSION
Merlin Cast - Merlin TV Show

Merlin Icons - Merlin TV Show It's currently unknown if NBC will broadcast the second season of Merlin.
We need to step up to plate and convince NBC to keep Merlin.
Together we can make a difference!
Merlin Icons - Merlin TV Show

The Problem: NBC has ordered the second season of Merlin (evidence and more evidence) but it is still unknown if they will be broadcasting it. Some people seem to think so, as a study of the season one ratings shows that without advertismentsadvertisements it beat shows that were heavily advertised (evidence), but others such as Robert Owen disagree (evidence). If NBC does decide not to run the second season, the rights will probably be sold to either Syfy or BBC America. In which case, we need to pressure them to show the second season.

The Solution: It seems that we need to attack this problem in two ways. We also need to act NOW, so that NBC will realize what a devout fan base Merlin has that they would ask for the second season before any plans of keeping it/selling it went underway. Here's the basis of our mission: keep contacting NBC with polite messages, outlining our reasons for asking them to keep the show, and have a second set of messages for Syfy/BBC America, asking them to buy the second season and broadcast it if they have the opportunity to do so. We've done the hard work for you, the emails have already been written so you just need to copy and paste. You're welcome to write your own message, of course- but make sure that you cover the same bases.

For the Skeptics: We know that some of you are probably thinking that this mission is a waste of time. Please cast those thoughts aside, we need your help to make this mission a success! But just in case you really disagree, we'd like to address some of your arguments. Firstly, you might think that an American citizen could just order the season two DVD. Of course, we could do that; the problem is that not every American fan has the money nor means to do so. Also, the DVDs are encrypted and therefore near impossible for American software to play. Another argument is that American citizens can watch the episode online (our site provides links). But honestly, not everyone has access to a computer. And even if everyone did, there is no assurance that every episode will be posted online. We need to have Merlin played on NBC so that EVERYONE can watch it.

DIRECTIONS: Go to the above link with the letter in your clipboard. About halfway down the page there is a line of green text saying "Still have a comment or question? See below for possible answers." Beneath this line is a drop down menu. Merlin is not listed, so choose "other". This will open the email form. Fill in your name and email. For the subject, please write "Re: Merlin Season 2, from MerlinTvShow.com". Then copy the letter into the box and send it in! Dear NBC,

I'm a member of the fansite MerlinTvShow.com. The fansite is huge- 700+ members, and the majority of us are from the United States. We're all devoted to watching Merlin, which we think is one of the best TV shows out there. Merlin has it all- great acting (Colin, Bradley, Katie, and Angel, what a great quartet!), wonderful footage, spectacular CGI and special effects, and of course an original plot. While Merlin doesn't follow true Arthurian legend, it has us enchanted. We American fans really want to see how Merlin goes from season 1 (which was amazing!) to King Arthur and his Round Table.

We actually love the show so much that several of us have found sites that post the second season episodesmuch, as they air inbut the UK.problem Theis problem?that Notnot everyone has access to a computer or can order the DVD. There are so many people who want to watch the second season and who can only do so by watching network television channels.

We've done our research, and we know that you have already ordered the second season of Merlin. What we want is for NBC to air the second season instead of selling it to premium channels like Syfy or BBC America. Please excuse the "bad" ratings you've received for season 1- there is quite a huge fan base out there, and it was really your lack of advertising that contributed to these bad statistics. Take a peek at MerlinTvShow.com and see for yourself how many Americans are waiting hungrily for the second season.

Thank you so much for your time and consideration!

For the subject, please write "Re: Possibility of airing Merlin, from MerlinTvShow.com". If your browser does not support the mailto email function, just use your regular email and direct it to the above address. Dear SyFy,

You might think that it's odd for fans of an NBC show- Merlin- to be writing to you. But the thing is, we've heard rumors that NBC might not actually be broadcasting the second season of Merlin. We do know that they've bought the second season from BBC One, and if they don't broadcast it... it's bye-bye Merlin for the United States fans.

And why is this a bad thing? Because we, the members of the fansiste MerlinTvShow.com, really want to see the second season. We're all devoted to watching Merlin, which we think is one of the best TV shows out there. Merlin has it all- great acting (Colin, Bradley, Katie, and Angel, what a great quartet!), wonderful footage, spectacular CGI and special effects, and of course an original plot. Now, if NBC does sell the rights to the show, there will be a huge opportunity for other channels like yourself. If you buy the show, you'll have 700+ fans from thethis Unitedsite Statesalone tuning in. Merlin has quite a fanbase, and we love the show so much that we're willing to change channels for it.

Thank you so much for your time and consideration!
