 | MERLIN EPISODE TRIVIA
| | - When Merlin first begin to feel the effects of the poison after drinking from the cup, he reaches up to his face and throat with his right hand. When he falls to the ground, the cup is first heard, then seen being dropped - also from his right hand, which was empty only seconds before.
- The Great Dragon does not appear in this episode, but John Hurt is credited.
- One of Bradley James' favorite scenes is when Arthur is climbing the rock wall to escape the giant spiders.

This is my favorite episode so far. Great to see Arthur speak for himself and disobey Uther. The spiders were very creepy, but I thought it was strange that they didn't follow Arthur out of the cave. I also found it unbelievable that Gwen suddenly kissed Merlin. The funny part was when Merlin made a comment on the hug that Gaius and Gwen gave eachoter.
