Which pairings do you support?

So I hope this isn't a recipe for a shipping war...But which pairings in Merlin do you like? I like Morgana/Gwen because it's so cute and Arthur/Merlin because they are just so willing to die for each other and stuff. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

Well i personally thought initially before i even watched the show i would love Arthur/Gwen but holy moly Arthur/Morgana has all the chemistry!!!! They are just great together, and the actors make the interaction so flirty and teasing its really enjoyable to watch. I do still like the idea of Gwen/Arthur, and liked the scenes they shared towards the end, but only because i know some of the backstory and think that's where the story will eventually end up, its a pity though because Arthur/Morgana is just epic! I would love too see some more developments in season two between Morgana/Arthur before they start all the Gwen/Arthur stuff.. its just much more interesting to me.

I really support the whole Merlin/Gwen thing. :) I mean, they both are servants (Merlin is more of one that Gwen) and plus they completely match. Merlin already does care for Gwen (The Mark of Nimeuh)... and Gwen with Merlin (The Poisoned Chalice). Plus, they look good together. I really don't like the whole Arthur/Gwen thing, I think it's just weird. ^.^ Sadly though, that's how the legend will be. I can't wait to see how they'll unravel the story. :)

I support Merlin/Morgana, Arthur/Gwen & Uther/Gaius (I do love Arthur/Merlin, but I don't support it).

Merlin/Arthur's my favorite- I love how their relationship's evolved throughout the series. I also ship to a lesser extent Merlin/Morgana, Uther/Morgana, Gwen/Lancelot, and a bit of Gwen/Morgana. However, I'm easily converted to most other pairings. Multishipping for the win?

Arthur/Merlin I Love it how they want to die for each other, it chills me to the bone. I also like Merlin/Gwen and ArthurMorgana, Oh and Gwen/Morgana Their Bffs!

Definitely Arthur/Gwen. This is probably the most brilliant couple-making writing in a tv series yet. The character of Guinevere is re-invented into an original and multi-dimensional Gwen, with a kind and noble heart that is a match for Arthur's pure and benevolent heart. Morgana is too stereotypical as a character, plus her relationship with Arthur would be best kept as friends, for she is the only person who can challenge Arthur in status, wits, and—sort of—combats. I prefer the series to keep the romantic drama to a minimum. As of now, the story has been going great. I love the writers of this show. They manage to re-invent events in the myths in exciting ways, one of which is Mordred. Morgana and Arthur saved Mordred from Uther, which alludes to the legend concerning the triad of Arthur, Morgause, and Mordred: that Mordred was sired by Arthur and his half-sister Morgause (Morgana anyone?) through an incestuous relationship. For Morgana and Arthur to save Mordred, the act is symbolic and liken to that of giving him life. I really do not like the Arthur/Morgana pair. Aside from Gwen/Arthur, other characters can just remain single. The character of Morgana will command much more power and strength as a fiesty noble not tamed by love. Merlin is a character larger than life, and thus not to be swayed by romance. Who says that every bachelor or bachelorete on the show must be paired up?

Yeah, i have to agree now with you AthenPallas. After re-watching some of the episodes of Merlin, I think that the best pairing would have to be Arthur/Gwen, but then again Morgana and Arthur have like an on/off thing, but maybe in a sibling-like way. I can't wait until the mystery unravels. :)

It was in episode five I think, during the celebration for Lancelot's entry into knighthood, that there were a bunch of suggestions on how the romance on the show can be unfolded. Arthur thought Morgana was beautiful, Lancelot thought Gwen was beautiful, Merlin thought both of them found Gwen attractive, Gwen seemed to have the most affection to Merlin (who is oblivious) and responded (when asked whether she would prefer Arthur or Lancelot): "But I don't have to and I never will." So, things can unfold sort-of like the legend, nothing like it, or with many original twists and turns; who knows? This show does a good job of keeping the audience guessing. However I like the chemistry between Arthur and Gwen as they slowly get closer to each other, when Arthur came to Merlin's village, when Arthur was bitten by the monster. (Is this chemistry anyway due to their interaction off-screen? Watch the cast diaries. They seem to get along really well, even shared a seat on a roller coaster ride.)

I noticed that too - Angel and Bradley seem pretty close. They're always teasing each other, and appearing in each other's video diaries (especially when they go shopping for fruit).Although when I first watched Le Morte d'Arthur I thought the Arthur/Gwen scenes were slightly forced, but after watching it back several times I've fallen in love with it. It's so sweet! And the Arthur/Gwen interaction in Moment of Truth was great, because it shows that Gwen can, and will, stand up to Arthur, and that's going to make Arthur notice her in return. Arthur likes people who stand up to him (aka Merlin). There's going to be more Arthur/Gwen in Season 2, so I'm looking forward to that 2 out of 5 found this valuable. Do you? |

I had the feeling maybe Angel and Bradley might be dating as well or at the very least like each other.. the video diaries definitely suggest that. Its kind of strange because i see at lot of chemistry between the two in the video diaries but none when in scenes for the actual show. It still doesn't make me like Arthur/Gwen though even though i kind of wish i could cause i know Morgana/Arthur will be ruined at some stage lol but i kind of hope they don't stay the formula of the legends.. or at the least they investigate Morgana/Arthur first and then at a later stage do Arthur/Gwen.

They have to start to become equals, friends, then lovers. Arthur already finds Morgana beautiful (the Lancelot eps), and he has known her his whole life. There is a lot of history there. For Gwen to have a lot of chemistry with Arthur right now would be bad writing. My guess? Arthur/Morgana will happen, but they will run into trouble because Morgana later will betray Uther again. Arthur will be heartbroken but cannot bear to be with someone who tries to kill his father. Then Gwen will help him heal, and tantatan...Arthur/Gwen will blossom. 1 out of 2 found this valuable. "I know me to I love Arthur/Morgana they just sparkle and they care about each other so much, I really never liked Arthur and Gwen well atleast in this series because for me they dont really click besides I think its obvious that Gwen has somethinng with Merlin but Merlin doesnt realize... I had my fingers crossed for a little Nimueh action, but she got blown to pieces...A shame really.As for the main cast, I'm not particularly interested in what they do, if we were following the legend then Arthur is going to marry Guinevere, but this show hasn't stayed at all truthful to the legend so it wouldn't surprise me if Gaius and Uther end up married. 4 out of 4 found this valuable. Gauis and Uther married? That'd be a fangirl's dream come true for me! (busy writing Gaius/Uther story currently) Although I'm not really an Arthur/Merlin girl, I have an odd feeling I'll desend into hysteria if the preview of season two shows them kissing. 3 out of 4 found this valuable. k so i like arther/morgana and merlin/gwen. EWEWEW why do people keep saying arther/merlin. yah we get they care for each other but thats because there destinies are intertwined, they are destined to be BEST FRIENDS. im sure that a lot of people care so much for there best friends that they would die for them. yes im sure merlin and arhter love each other deeply, but there is a difference from the deep bond of friendship and the love between you and your soul mate. SO yah just merlin/arther are OBVIOUSLY not a pair is the lover sense!

yah and to panthereye24 i also LOVED merlin/nimueh because like they are so opposite, good and evil, they compliment each other greatly and maybe merlin could have changed her. but i mean if the realationship had continued there could have definatly been SOMETHING there

XD I find it funny that Merlin/Arthur are the most favoured pairing.I go for Morgana/Arthur, it's just so enjoyable seeing them together from when they're arguing, glancing at eachother pensively or expressing their care towards the other. I've never supported a pairing as strong as this, I think they're a perfect match. However I know they won't end together as they've stated Morgana will be evil and Gwen will be Queen. I really don't like Arthur and Gwen, their monets seem forced, it's like they barely know eachother but the last eps had a lot of their moments together. I know they'll probably follow the legend but afte all that Morgana/Arrthur and Gwen/Lancelot or Gwen/Melrin build up it's going to be very hard to make Arthur/Gwen satisfying. At the moment the only way they can be satisfying is if Morgana leaves, Arthur and Gwen miss Morgana and reminisce about her and bond through that. Otherwise it would seem to forced upon and quick. If they follow the legend Gwen/Arthur will happen but so will Gwen/Lancelot.... so not a good deal if you look at it, Ahh Merlin, poor Merlin... XD Even though Merlin is the main character I think he's going to end up as a bachelor o.o Morgana and Gwen seem to be heading towards Arthur and I think it'll be weird to have the main character's love interest arise afte the whole of series one has finished. Merlin/Gwen I loved that pair. They're both so nice and freindly, kinda like having 2 cuddly teddies together. XD they seem kinda doomed though and Merlin only sees her as a friend. I remember when Gwen was interested in him at the start and he think she should go with Lancelot but she rebukes saying not her type and he's likr "You wouldn't know your type if he was standing right next to you." XD so ironic and funny. lol seems like all my pairings are doomed. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Morgana and Arthur all the way. they are not all lovey dovey and instead of swooping all over eachother they trade insults. Great!!!!!! and it good to see how much they really care for each other
